Excellent and Fun
What do you like best about the product?
The challenge of thinking through what I want people to see/what I want to show and using Qlik to make it happen. The YouTube support channel is my go-to and answers everything I need. I can spend hours playing, creating, fixing, and experimenting without getting bored.
What do you dislike about the product?
Scripting - it's a new language for me that I am constantly trying to understand. For some people that comes easily, but I'm sure it has a lot to with how our brains are wired differently!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Because we are unique in our use of Qlik Sense (we are a community foundation using Qlik to help us measure our mission a using a combination of qualitative and quanititative metrics as a way to show our investors how we are doing against that mission), we are constantly tweaking our questions and visuals to really be able to see what we need to see. It's not as simple as COGS or sales numbers in different markets and much of our data relies on other organizations' reporting, which can be a wildcard. What we have learned most significantly since getting into several years of data at this point is just how important the data storytelling piece is for our kind of work and visualizations. We simply cannot let people see a visual and make assumptions without providing a backdrop/story to help them understand. As for benefits, our board and higher level investors are finding the visual of how we are doing with respect to what the organizations we support report on how we are doing (using metrics we ask them to provide) is actually providing real insights and information into decision-making at the highest level of the foundation. It's pretty incredible. No longer isit, "Oh we think this will be a good thing." Now it is, "Wow, we can actually see the impact!"
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely get a lot of support up front. Use the YouTube channel. Use the community support page. Play with it nonstop. Create the story in your head as you begin visualizations so that it will be easier to come up with what you actually want to show.

Make a long term TCO evaluation, consider several scenarios, for example Cloud and On Premise. Consider multiple kind of users

solving problems with other companies to make better decisions and the benefits are many such as viewing data on a dashboard and making discoveries intelligently

I have worked in Qlik Product for the last 8 -9 Years . Ever since I used Qlikview 10 , I have seen Qlik grow and add new capabilities . The introduction of Qlik sense was a game changer . Qlik's investment in Qliksense and it outcome can now been seen with its popularity .
As a developer with hands on experience , what Qlik offers is a robust BI platform with capabilities with vast capabilities of managing and deploying Qlik app.
Users enjoy the the process of discovering insights and analyzing hidden trends in there data . The Green,White and Gray is one of the most powerful component of the QIX engine that user seems to embrace it .

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that you can do all data manipulation in the tool as well as the associative model. I love the drag and drop functionality and how easy it is to create an informative dashboard. The Qlik community is great for any assistance as well as all of the resources on google to help if I get stumped on how to do something.
What do you dislike about the product?
Right now, I really which it had a chart type that allowed you to select fields to be displayed in a table. Other than that, I feel like Qlik is really good at listening to their community and always upgrading and adding new features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem that it solves is I now have a single version of the truth. This has also eliminated all of our excel reports.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do your research on other tools and see what fits best for your company but Qlik has been such an asset and I have no regrets. It provides us with all of the flexibility that we need and has taken our reporting and data analysis to a new level.

Qlik Sense provides great out-of-the-box visualizations and functionality that can get your app going in short order. It's also API-based, so you can achieve advanced functionality with Qlik Sense as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much really. It takes a little bit of time to understand how to best model your data for performance in Qlik, but I think you have that with every BI tool.

Qlik sense creates a very user friendly environment that makes it easy for users without coding background to interact with their data

I have noticed that the support team sometimes takes long to get back to users on problems

Right now, we use Qlik sense to identify and maintain key company metrics. Something we realized is we also use Qlik to clean our data as well

Easy and powerfull tool to deploy complex data models when you have multiple data sources and you have to consolidate and integrate in a single data model and get insights.
Qlik Sense is a very suitable analytics platform for SMB companies who have several business units or many different data sources and they have needs to consolidate information and getting quick insights. The associative model lets you to join heterogenous data tables and simplifies data modeling.

What do you dislike about the product?
Rigid pricing, it's too expensive to scale to hundred-thousands users, when only they have need to report or basic consume. It would be great to have a lowest license to massively report.
Lack of out-of-the-box advanced analytics. In September release seems to be included some basic as a cluster, but still miss some common machine learning methods like regression trees would be available in script.
We miss governance capabilites: business glossary, data governance profiles for users, metadata management, master data, quality tools

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Qlik Sense deployment, we solve problems we had with our datawarehouse based in OLAP and MS Integration Services ETLs:
- Reduce long reload times. We couldn't get daily data refresh until we deploy Qlik Sense.
- Reduce development times. Every evolutive (including new measures and dimensiones) meant a really painfull task, because the complexity of the architecture: business logic distributed across the different tools of the MS Stack (views in SQL Server, projects Integration Services in Visual Studio, MDX, etc.) versus the simplicity of the Qlik Load Script.
- Reduce maintenance. We have reduces significatively the number of issues, and achieve a better performance.

Qlik Sense is the best choice when you have to consolidate various data sources with significative volumes. I think Qlik Sense is useful for directives, intermediate managers and business analysts.

Quite long development time with the developer. IT challenges using a query to extract the data

Very easy to use, change management in the organisation is necessary to make it a success. Consider the development cost and IT capability.

Gap in between Windows and Kubernetes distributions

Better targeting of customers and global metrics with salesforce activities, procurement & travel cost reductions, supply chain optimization, finance P&L reviews and commenting, full business self-service analytics

Be detail oriented and get mockups done with each technology.
The devil is in the details, make a proper assessment or be prepared for frustration and ugly workarounds down the road.
