The Most Accessible Linux Distro For All
What do you like best about the product?
If you are curious about Linux and not sure where to start, nothing is more accessible for beginners than Ubuntu. Marrying the UI beauty of "easier to use" OS like Mac and Windows with the Linux Kernel is exactly what you'll get here. Many users will feel right at home as soon as they reach the desktop and start working. Icons are big and beautiful, searching for files is easy to do and managing your experience is a breeze. The best part though is when you're ready to dig in deeper you can bring up the terminal and have at it. Constantly being updated and maintained and the user support on forums and such is incredible. You won't be let down!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing is inherently wrong with Ubuntu. Again, you receive a beautiful Linux Distro with a myriad of functionality. The only thing that could possibly turn some people off is the lack of enterprise support. With that said, you probably won't run your backbone on Ubuntu and most likely use something like CentOS, Fedora and of course RedHat.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Normal productivity, web access, email, software development and databases.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Again, if you want to explore Linux and see what it's all about, this is the place to start. It's easy to install and there are tons of tutorials on Youtube you can follow on top of other lessons as well. Give it a go! You won't be disappointed.

Use this OS for specific tasks related to security and special programs.
What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is easier as ever to now install and configure. The continued improvements that are being made to make this a more useful platform. More adoption within organizations. Less vulnerability to malware and other threats the plague other platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
More emphasis on how this platform can be managed in the cloud. More applications that have cross-platform capabilities. Some items require a bit of a learning curve to complete.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This platform has a niche function for organizations looking at a locked down operating system. Some applications are better suited for a Linux based platform due to the security and less administrative overhead costs involved.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a shot.

It's Linux, so the common annoyances are all there.

Fast and Eficient
What do you like best about the product?
SO fast and smooth , you can connect to the internet with no issues and there are no installations , everything is preinstalled where its fast and efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dislike that not a lot of software can be used on the software, it is limited to a couple of applications
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Database management is so much easier to use in linux, using ubuntu gives it that extra push!
Ubuntu is amazing
What do you like best about the product?
I typically use the server version of Ubuntu, however I have also used the desktop version. Ubuntu is the industry leader in "common" Linux. It has the most support for the apps that are developed for the Linux world as well as a great user base and forum.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I don't agree with the release cycles for Ubuntu. Having the LTS branch does help, however if you require functionality from a non-LTS branch it can be difficult to get those features/fixes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Ubuntu primarily for docker containers and so far it has worked amazingly well.
Review for Ubuntu
What do you like best about the product?
Customizability, ease of installation of packages, community support
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be hard to troubleshoot issues sometimes out of the box - usually requires additional setup to be able to properly diagnose. Open source also means if you're the first one to have a particular problem that there might not be support. Huge shift coming from windows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Use for most linux servers which are the preferred server we use now.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Research the solutions you want to implement using Ubuntu and make sure they have good community support or even paid support (just in case!). Ubuntu has been a great linux platform for us.
Great System for Everyday, Development and Media
What do you like best about the product?
There are so many aspects of Ubuntu that shine. In comparison to other Linux distributions, Ubuntu has always done a good job at driver detection, having a nice library of applications installed and customization while being very easy to install.
My favorite feature is APT-GET or the Apptitude package management system which allows for easy installs, updates and good system maintenance.
I enjoy the many flavors of Ubuntu- if you want to use different windows systems like KDE, Gnome, XFCE it is VERY easy. Lately, the additions of drive encryption, migrations from other systems and backup have made the system even more robust.

What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to be able to more easily use proprietary sources and drivers. I believe this has been made easier over the years, but I don't believe this is OOB functionality yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu has been a go-to system for development, LAMP server (HTTP Deployments/Apps) and browsing the web. You get all the benefits such as "easy to use' while remaining very secure. This is also a good system to use to prolong life out of older hardware.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Please try to remain active on the forums of Ubuntu.com and help the community when it comes to debugging newer hardware.
Not only has the community helped me troubleshoot issues, but I have also done my best to contribute newer hardware for different patching.
I have not used Ubuntu services aside from what is freely available and that has been above average.
