  • April 29, 2023

What do you like best about the product?
The best part is the ease of using the operating system. It's the Linux operating system with the best User interface ever. It has good community support as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
It like most aspects of Ubuntu as an Operating System but it has less number of apps on it's app store directly. Many of the times we have to rely on downloading third party softwares.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a great operating system and probably the best one in Linux family. It's very convinient for sctipting and development. It was great compatibility with all the Command Line Tools such as Python, Shell Script, etc.

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is fast and secure. I like that it's available on every architecture possible, free to use, and supports the most popular apps we use at work. It's easily customizable as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be hard to delve into the Ubuntu experience, especially if coming from Windows. Canonical provides excellent support to the operating system, nonetheless.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Ubuntu OS as a base for our product, and it's been a great choice so far. We were able to build our app on top of it, and it was a success. The integration of ready-to-use features such as Bluetooth and video capability is amazing!

What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu provides the most simplistic and easy to get into flavour of Linux. Plus it has all the benefits of Linux kernel which makes it the best environment to practice and in future develop production level applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
Whenever there is a major version update Ubuntu is very buggy and might turn messy at times. Later patches do fix that but it can be pretty annoying when it comes to updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helped me start development and get into developing applications or performing AI experiments , writing hardware level codes etc.

With Ubuntu you'll learn how to be a good software engineer, learning how it works gives you a wide notion of knowledge of how everything works, not to forget it's free, open software, made by great coders and more!

Can be hard to learn, some installations can be frustrating at first, after a while everything becomes intuitive and easy to use.
Some bugs take long to fix!!!!

Best Free open source OS for desktop and servers

  • April 24, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu Server is Open source, and anyone can use it. Very Light OS, which can be installed on any machine with a Low CPU and Memory Machine, Has an excellent Community to build it better, and mainly all the languages are supported worldwide. It is far better than Windows OS. Ubuntu Belong to the Linux Family, and most coders choose Ubuntu to write codes and develop the programme. Most Importantly, it will not restart to install new drivers over the Windows OS.
What do you dislike about the product?
Users must be a little techie to understand the OS workings, and we can not use MS Office on Ubuntu OS, which is not required if we are using it for servers. Since its free, ware no dedicated support for the operating system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Ubuntu Server is Freeware and community-based. We do need to pay extra cost to use it. If we face an issue, simply look online. Since the community is too big, we will never get stuck over problems.
2. Very Lighe OS, which runs on minimum CPU and Memory resources
3. we can manage our server with roles-based and permission-based, where we can control how we want to use our files.
4. APT repository ready and available where we need to install new applications or programmes.
5. Mostly Databases servers are running on Ubuntu Server,
6. Top-notch security.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using ubuntu in aws for runnin the applications. It is difficult to host my applications in a windows environment. I can run many number of apps in ubuntu
